Prize: €600 for the picture that “best captures the city from a canal side perspective”. Sponsored by the Canal Company.

harm_belt Runner up
Harm Belt,“Westerdok" 50 x 60 cm, oil on canvas.
Prize: The artist will receive €500 and the picture will then be reproduced as a limited edition of 50 for sale in their stores across Holland.

 

Judges

Lead Judge – Jim Harris
Jim is a very established and highly regarded artist who has been living and working in the Netherlands for over twenty years. All of Jim’s work is painted directly from observation with the vast majority of it created outdoors. His paintings are exhibited in galleries throughout Europe as well as being held in private and public collections including the prestigious Akzo Noble Art Foundation. In 2013 he was the subject of a one-man show at the Stedelijk Museum Kampen.. Jim also teaches at the Wackers Academy in Amsterdam. Jim Harris Facebook

Rutger Brandt
Rutger is the director of Galerie Mokum. Galerie Mokum was founded in 1962 and was the first gallary in Amsterdam, where realistic art was shown, defended and promoted. It has played a decisive role in the development of Dutch postwar realist painting. Galerie Mokum.

Raoul is the Editor of Atelier Magazine. Atelier is for people with a passion for drawing and painting.
